InfoHarvest has been engaged in a growing number of public planning processes, teaming with mediators and neutral 3rd parties to engage the public in complex decisions online, in workshops and in facilitated meetings.

Online decision support for the Santa Cruz Water Supply Advisory Committee 2014 - 2015

InfoHarvest, working with Fox Mediation used the DecisionHarvest platform to provide online MCDA support to the Santa Cruz Water Supply Advisory Committee as the committee deveopled a portfolio of projects to meet water supply and demand needs for the next 20 years. Features of the MCDA support was gathering weights for project under multiple scenarios, analyzing uncertainty in ratings and variance in weights through mu;ltiplephases of the project.

Group decision support for Non-native Invasive Species Management (NISM) on Ft. Huachuca, Az. 2010-2012

Working with USACE and the Redlands Institute, designed and created an online group elicitation system based on weights of respect and utilizing a consensus convergence approach to weights aggregation. Facilitated elicitation process on the base, and post meeting analysis. The acquired group weights were then used in the full NISM system to prioritize weed patches for management, with results and analysis rendered in maps and charts.

Giant Sequoia National Monument outreach, California, Summer 2008 - Winter 2011

InfoHarvest, working with Fox Mediation provided public engagement support for the Giant Sequoia National Monument management plan revision..

  • Presentation on Findability - part of panel on participant driven web design at NAEP 2012 with Carie Fox and Rich Fairbanks
  • Report: With Carie Fox, wrote and submitted to USIECR the collaboration Report Face-to-Face and Internet Collaboration for the Giant Sequoia National Monument in Summer 2011. Awaiting for go-ahead to post it.
  • DEIS: Created the Value and Interests-based Explorer to engage citizens in exploring the Draft EIS that was published for comment in the Fall of 2010.
  • Scoping: provided a test drive the Value and Interests-based Explorer at gsnmvibe.ecr.gov.

  • Pre-scoping: provided an innovative, context-centric comment gathering web application for the pre-scoping phase of the

Desert Tortoise Recovery Plan Revision support, South West US, Spring 2008 - Fall 2010

InfoHarvest supported the Redlands Institute in providing threats-based spatial decision support for the Desert Tortoise Recovery plan revision . The work was performed in partnership with the United States Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution for the Desert Tortoise Recovery Office.

Western Oregon Forest Plan Revision outreach, Oregon, Fall 2006 - Winter 2008

InfoHarvest co-founded the Daylight Decision consortium with Fox Mediation to provide an innovative public outreach approach for the DEIS comment stage of the Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR). The work was done in partnership with the United States Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution for the Oregon State Office of the Bureau of Land management.

CCWES Service District#1 Wastewater Treatment plant siting, Oregon, Summer 2006

InfoHarvest first teamed with Fox Mediation to engage the public in a wastewater treatment plant site selection decision. The work was done for the Water Environmental Services division of Clackamas County, Oregon.
